I mean, I've been fervently wishing that everything in the universe would coincide and make Ginebra champions once again and all that chenes.
I've been praying for that for six agonizing years.

Wag na tayo talaga magexpect para di tayo nadidisappoint.
Wag ng #expecting para di nahahigh blood.

Question: Comparing Ginebra then and now, Nabawasan na ba o nababawasan na ba ang passion nyo sa team?
ReplyDeleteThis question has been on my mind for a couple of weeks now and i feel that the mere fact that i am contemplating the answer is a betrayal of my loyalty to the team.
My Ginebra love affair started around 1995 and just like any true die hard fan i pride myself in believing that i am their number 1 fan... which brings me back to the guilt of having to ask myself of the question i asked above.
As a long time Ginebra fan, I am used to being the underdog, used to the feeling of being eliminated, used to the dislike of some fans, used to hear the squatter comments, used to losing games, used to heartbreaks but what im not used to is the team's lackluster performance conference after conference after conference... despite the promising line up.
To be fair, this season's 1st conference was a bit exciting but other than that it seems like their spirit is broken.
I want ~ No, make that I NEED to have my old Ginebra back! The one that plays with passion, the one that draws the crowd, the one that does not need impressive line up but the one that never say die.
Superstars should not be acquired via trade but should be born the Ginebra way. Like the way Bal and Mark were nameless before they become The Flash and The Spark. Stop the never ending trades and the change in coaching staff. It does not build our team it just keeps on ruining our teamwork.
I heard a line in a song 'The passion is gone and the flames died down' which kinda describes Ginebra's recent conference. The song's title is YOU DONT LOVE ME ANYMORE and suddenly i just knew the answer to my question. No, I will never not love Ginebra. in fact, I just love them more.
